Recommended Hair Stylists
Light hair styling is becoming an essential element in almost all of our senior photo shoots. As our studio features more beauty and fashion photography, seniors are increasingly looking for stylists that can offer bigger, sexier and more creative hairstyles for certain types of photo shoots. While several of our recommended makeup artists also offer light hair-styling, the stylists listed here are able to provide a full range of hair styles from light curls, updos, retro styles to avant-garde.
It is important to be clear that we do not receive any form of compensation (referral fees, commissions, kickbacks, favors, etc…) from any of the Hair Stylists we recommend. They are listed here solely because they have done great work for our clients. Our only reward is knowing you will be well taken care of and your hair will look great.
We do want to make sure we are always recommending the best hair stylists possible and hope you will share your feedback with us if you ever have, or have had, a bad experience with any of our recommended stylists. Kati has been working in the cosmetic world for years creating hair inspirations for countless clients and companies. Working closely with photographers make sure to have the skill set for on camera looks for seniors who are looking for a transitional look between several locations and outfits. She has been in the pageant world for the past 5 years working closely with pageant coaches and various artist to be able to create the big sexy hair and bouncy curls the pageant girl is looking for in her headshots. Working on print and film photoshoots has helped her creating the stylish look for editorial fashion shoots. Know matter what your hair inspiration is Kati has the back round and ability to make your ideas come to life.
Services Offered: Light Hair Styling, Creative Hair Styling and Makeup Artistry
Availability: Monday-Sunday per appointment, Saturdays may be difficult during wedding season as Kati is highly sought out for bridal make up.
Investment: Hair styling depending on styling ranges $30-$60. Makeup: $50 for full face, extra $20 for air brush (long wear smear proof foundation) and $5 for lashes.
Location: Our Studio or at BlushDsm in Ankeny
When to Schedule: We recommend scheduling Kati at least 60 minutes before your photo shoot. Please allow an additional 60 minutes if she will be doing your makeup in addition to your hair. Photo shoots often start around rush hour so please also allow at least another 30 minutes for travel time between your makeup/hair location and the first location for your photo shoot if they are not at the same place.

Aurilla hails from southwest Iowa and has been behind the chair for 7 years. Throughout Aurilla’s professional career, her work has been published in Modern Salon, American Salon, Beauty Launchpad, DSM Magazine, Inspire: Hair Fashion for Salon Clients, and many others. With her impeccable attention to detail, Aurilla enjoys working with clients to create styles individualized to fit their needs and lifestyle. Aurilla has honed in on her styling skills by traveling the United States assisting updo guru, Martin Parsons. She has also worked with countless pageants– Miss IA USA, Miss IA America, & Miss Rodeo Iowa, just to name a few.
Services Offered: Light Hair styling and Creative Hair Styling
Availability: Aurilla is available Sunday, Monday, & Wednesday by appointment.
Investment: $75 flat rate (includes travel to location), $25 extension add-on, Cash, CC, or Paypal accepted
Location: Our Studio, On Location or available at Studio 406 in Corning, Iowa
