Recommended Makeup Artists
Styles learned two very important lessons the hard way. First, that there is a huge difference between everyday makeup and makeup for photography and it is best to send clients to makeup artists with expertise in latter. We also learned that sending clients to salons is kinda like shooting craps – with different stylists and turnover, you never know what you’re going to get. So we have developed a list of specific makeup artists we have worked with over the years who are professional and consistently deliver great results.
It is important to be clear that we do not receive any form of compensation (referral fees, commissions, kickbacks, favors, etc…) from any of the Makeup Artists we recommend. They are listed here solely because they have consistently done great work for our clients. Our only reward is knowing you will be well taken care of and your makeup will look great throughout your photo shoot.
We do want to make sure we are always recommending the best makeup artists possible and hope you will share your feedback with us if you ever have, or have had, a bad experience with any of our recommended artists. When to schedule your Hair and Makeup appointment
Our seniors often ask when to schedule their makeup and hair appointments. Assuming you are using the same stylist for both hair and makeup, here is the general rule that works for most seniors…
1-1/2 Hours for Makeup + 1 Hour for Hair + 1/2 Hour travel from the makeup location to the shoot location (if not the same place)
This is conservative, most makeup doesn’t take 1-1/2 hours and your appointment may be closer to where the shoot will start, but stuff happens that you don’t expect and we’ve found that our clients arrive much more relaxed when they had a little extra time to visit Starbucks before the shoot than when they’re racing across town to start their shoot on time.

Owner Danielle Stewart has been doing make-up for over 13yrs. She is makeup certified through Mac Cosmetics, Laura Mericer, worked at Sephora, Estee Lauder, Bare Minerals, Chanel, and is now a trainer for HourGlass Cosmetics.
